Ilavanam Sprouted Ragi Powder for Babies: The Best First Food 🥣

Give your baby the pure goodness of Ilavanam Sprouted Ragi Powder. First, we carefully sprout whole finger millet. Next, it is solar-dried ☀️ and ground into a fine powder.

Because of this sprouting method, the powder is much easier to digest. Therefore, it is a gentle and healthy food for your baby’s tiny tummy.

Why Choose Our Sprouted Ragi?

  • Rich in Calcium & Iron 💪: Sprouting unlocks key nutrients. Therefore, it provides healthy food for your growing baby.
  • Gentle on Tiny Tummies 👶: Sprouting breaks down hard starch. Because of this, our sprouted ragi flour is very easy to digest.
  • Daily Energy ⚡: This food is full of good things. As a result, it gives your child steady energy to grow well.
  • 100% Pure 🌿: We use pure grains. Furthermore, we never add fake colors, preservatives, salt, or sugar.

How to Make Sprouted Ragi Porridge

Making a warm bowl is quick and simple:

  1. Mix: Add 3 tablespoons (about 45g) of sprouted ragi powder to 100ml of water. Then, stir well until there are no lumps.
  2. Cook: Heat the mix on a medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes. Keep stirring until it is smooth. (See the note below about watery porridge).
  3. Serve: Adding sugar is entirely optional. Finally, serve the porridge warm.
⚠️ Important Note: Why is the porridge watery? 💧
During sprouting, hard starch turns into simple sugar. Because of this, the powder is very easy to digest. However, it also makes a thinner, watery porridge. This is normal! Therefore, if you want a thicker meal, simply add a little raw Nendran banana powder or rice flour before cooking.

Beyond Porridge 🥞

As your child grows, this sprouted ragi flour grows with them. Because it is so handy, you can make soft dosas and pancakes. It is great for the whole family.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When can I introduce sprouted ragi powder to my baby?

This is completely normal! During the sprouting process, the complex starches in the ragi naturally convert into simpler, easy-to-digest sugars. This makes the powder incredibly gentle on your baby's tummy, but it can result in a thinner consistency when cooked. To achieve a thicker, traditional porridge texture, simply mix in a small amount of raw Nendran banana powder or rice flour while preparing it.

Q: When can I safely introduce sprouted ragi powder to my baby?

A: Sprouted ragi is an excellent first food! You can safely introduce it once your baby is 6 months old and ready to start solid foods. Because it is sprouted, it is easily digestible and exceptionally gentle on tiny, developing digestive systems. Always consult your pediatrician before introducing any new foods.

Q: Why is sprouted ragi better than regular ragi flour for infants?

A: Sprouting is a natural nutritional game-changer. The process breaks down anti-nutrients (like phytic acid) found in the raw grain. This makes it significantly easier for your baby's body to absorb essential, bone-building minerals like calcium and iron, while also making the flour much easier to digest compared to regular, unsprouted ragi.

Q: Does Ilavanam Sprouted Ragi Powder contain any sugar, salt, or preservatives?

A: Absolutely not. Our sprouted ragi powder is 100% pure and natural. We do not add any salt, sugar, milk powder, artificial flavors, or preservatives, ensuring your little one gets only clean, wholesome nourishment.
